Jeff, Chantal and Jaydon Nelson have called the Monterey Peninsula home for more than twenty years. Jeff has been in kitchens since he was fourteen; Chantal grew up in hospitality in the Netherlands. Together they steward a Carmel institution — the only counter-service café in the village, where the vibe is friendly, open and refreshingly honest.
In our open kitchen, Chef Guillermo Garcia — with us for more than a decade — turns the peninsula's best produce into food we'd proudly serve our own family. Because that's really the whole idea.
The best ingredients come from Monterey County — and you can taste the difference in every bite.
Our meats are hormone-free, grass-fed and humanely raised in California. Our produce is mostly organic, sourced from local farmers' markets and small family farms across Monterey, Carmel and Salinas — the salad bowl of the world.

Inside, local artists' seascapes line whitewashed brick and a stone hearth crackles through the cool coastal mornings. Outside, our courtyard patio catches the Carmel sun. However you like it, there's a seat with your name on it.
